What To See And Do in the Horowhenua District Levin, and the wider Horowhenua District (includes Foxton and Shannon), has only short distances between mountains, bush, lakes and beaches, and offers a varied outdoor lifestyle with a real holiday atmosphere. There is/are:

- World class white water kayaking and nature reserve at the Mangahao National White Water Centre (20 minutes drive from Levin)
- Owlcatraz wildlife park in Shannon (15 minutes drive from Levin) with it's large array of New Zealand flora and fauna
- Murrayfield Clydesdales and gardens
- Nurseries and garden centers
- A range of clothing factory shops
- A large range of restaurants to suit every taste
